Tabs keep opening on my MacBook pro

I may have been infected by a virus. everytime I open a new tab in safari another one pops up with ads etc.

Random Tab Opening on my safari Browser Hi, So i have been using macbook pro for almost 3 years now. But recently from the last few months i am facing a problem where i came across random tab opening whenever i open safari browser. I have tried all the solutions where i deleted the extensions which were not useful and even tried with blocking the popup windows still the problem is not fixed. random windows opening My Safari will randomly open unsolicited tabs every now and then, usually for shopping websites that I have not authorized. This does not happen with Google Chrome. I think it's some sort of virus but I can't remember how I would have gotten it/how to stop it. Suggestions? Windows will open even when I have Safari closed and they will force my computer to exit full-screen (when I'm using it) to look at the sites

If you suspect you have installed adware/malware. Try running this trusted utility https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/
