iPhone Trade-In with AppleCare and a Cracked Screen

Hello,

I'm wondering how it works if I'm attempting to trade in my iPhone X but the screen is cracked. I currently have Applecare+, so I have the ability to replace the cracked screen for just 29 dollars. Do I need to have them replace the screen before I can trade it in, or will they just deduct the 29 dollars from the trade in value?

Thanks,

Jameson

Greetings jamesonking,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! I understand you're interesting in trading in your iPhone, and you're curious if the AppleCare+ incident fee would be applied in your trade-in to cover the cracked screen.

After submitting your trade-in, the credit received for your iPhone will be based on the condition of the device when received, without AppleCare+ being factored in. You can see details outlining how the credit is applied in the "How much will I get for my trade-in" section of the following website: Apple Trade In - Apple

Cheers.
