Do I need a voltage regulator to charge my Macbook pro in India?

I am taking my MacBook Pro back to India and was wondering if I need to use any voltage converter to charge since the voltage and frequency is different there.

No. All Apple power adapters available for at least two decades (probably longer) will accept anything from 100-240V AC from 50-60 Hz. Even something nonstandard like 150V would work. All you would need is something to connect the power adapter lines to the outlet blades/pins. All power adapters with MacBook Pros have Apple's modular "duckhead" system where the module can be removed and replaced with a suitable module or cable for the particular outlet.

This is a 12W iPad power adapter, but you can see the separate module. All duckheads can be swapped with any Apple power adapter using this system. You could also use a passive adapter although it might hang awkwardly.

Where was the MacBook Pro purchased?

Thank you. It was purchased a couple of months ago.

I meant where? Mostly I'm wondering what kind of plug it uses. The plug type in India is the same as in Continental Europe and there are other types of pin plugs that are more or less compatible.

Just have a look at the label on the power adapter. It should be similar to the photo of the iPad power adapter I posted. They all use switched-mode power supplies that automatically adjust for the AC voltage and frequency within its specified range. This is pretty common with almost all power adapters sold today. I can take my Apple power and use it almost anywhere in the world. Even though 110-120V AC at 60Hz is the general standard in the United States, I can use mine in China (where most outlets accept North American style bladed plugs) where it's 220V.
