So, my iphone 8 i was using this morning, i accidently dropped it and than i picked it up and turned it on and it had vertical lines. Please help, as i do not know what it is.

Sounds like you need to get the screen assembly replaced. It could be a number of things including the ribbon connector misaligned or the display being damaged, but in the end Apple or an AASP won't fix it unless you agree to a screen replacement. They're not going to fix the issue where they leave in place a broken piece of glass.
