My Apple Music subscription expired even though I paid the $10 why did it expire?

See your purchase history in the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support
View your Apple ID balance - Apple Support. If you pay subscription fees using account balance, then there has to be enough account balance (including tax) at the moment that the charge is scheduled to happen. Adding funds later will not be used for expired subscriptions.
You can re-subscribe to resume service, by adjusting the subscription detail options.
