Script and photos

I have a folder action script which imports images added from third party software automatically into Photos. However, the script fails if multiple images are added to the folder, returning the message "Another import session is in progress."

Any ideas on how to check if there is an import in progress and wait until the import completes before trying to upload a photo?.

"Some items cannot be added to your Photo library because they may be unrecognizable file format or the file may not contain valid data." then it lists the affected files, and next to each of them it lists the error as "Unknown Error" Then I check the library and it did in fact import the image. These are all JPG files. I then tried a new image from my iPhone in HEIC format. And yes, sometimes that gave the error too. I don't get this consistently. I import the images manually and sometimes get it. And I'm using the Automator app to create a folder action script to attach to a folder to watch for new files/images added and then import them into the photo library. I find the images successfully import, but often result in this unexplained error with no real specifics that I can troubleshoot. Suggestions? Any help is appreciated.

“Imported photos” clearly there but not in main library Good day. Though my editing software I can successfully export photos into a specific folder and then through an Automator script update that folder into iPhoto. I can clearly see the photos in the “Imported” tab of iPhoto however they will not display in my main library hence not in the main photos display nor in any of my devices. These photos are taken on the date of export and should be shown at the end of my photo timeline. Thoughts? Thank you.

How to import a folder with 500GB files export from iPhoto to Photo Hi, I want to import 500Gb photos which were export from iPhoto to Photo. However, every time i want to import, the app hangs. It hangs even before the "Import New Photos" get enable. After some searching on web, I tried the disable "copy photo to library" option, then at least I can stay clam and wait until the "Import New Photos" button enabled. However, the loading keeps on, and it hangs and I have no chance to click on that enabled buttons :( Also notice that, in the import preview, there are a lot of thumbnails generated by iPhoto. Does anyone know what should be the best way to import? And how can I just import the original and not those thumbnails? Some people suggested to import the files batch by batch, as Photo may detect duplicate (does thumbnail considered to be duplicated?). This quite painful, as the photos are in a plain folder, even scrolling to select photo batch by batch may takes quite a lot of time. (very slow) Thanks in advance for any comments. Dan
