I’ve recently took a picture with my iPhone XR using portrait mode, I now want to use the photo as my wallpaper but the picture gets cut off on the sides and is not long enough. I’ve asked for help before and a lot of people tried to help me but none of the advice helped. Thank you in advance!

This is an expected behaviour since the ratio of photo and the screen are different.
You have to cut off the photo to fit it. There's no other way.

Thanks but I think apple should try to fix this.
Open the photo in the photos app. Tap it to hide the controls. Try taking a screenshot of the photo, add to photos, then use that as wallpaper. Should be sized for your screen.
This does not work either. Can Apple sort this out please.
