I cannot follow the directions offered a year or so ago for resolving this problem. My original iPad asks for a recovery key--and I can't find one anywhere despite my compulsive record keeping for passwords and such.
In addition there is no "get new RK" in the Security section of my Apple account.
Suggestions?

I am having the same issue. When I get to the Security section there is no option to select to get a new recovery key.
Just want to thank you. I haven't tried yet to do this, although I'm pretty sure I've read this section previously. The stumper previously was finding the "get new RK" choice.
