Why isn't the Apple TV app on macOS Mojave

I recently tried to search for Apple TV app on my MacBook Pro, but I unfortunately could not find it. Does anyone know why/how to get it? Thanks.

Apple made their AppleTV+ promo a bit misleading by saying,

"If you have an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV, you already have the

Apple TV app", without the Catalina qualifier for Macs.

Which also sounds like if you have a Mac that cannot install

Catalina, you can't get AppleTV+, unless Apple plans some

point update for older macOS support of it.
