Purchasing a MacBook Air - Apple TV Plus one year free?

Does purchasing a new MacBook Air qualify for the Apple TV Plus one year free?

I’m not sure if it falls under the “Mac” category.

You have to wait until November 1.

pple TV+ launches November 1, featuring originals from the world’s greatest storytellers - Apple

Customers who purchase any new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac or iPod touch starting September 10 can enjoy one year of Apple TV+ for free. Beginning November 1, customers can initiate the one-year free offer in the Apple TV app on the device running the latest software. Customers have three months after device activation to claim the offer, or if the device was purchased and activated before the launch of Apple TV+, they will have three months starting November 1. The subscription will automatically renew at $4.99 per month after one year. Customers can cancel at any time in Settings at least one day before each renewal date. Customers who cancel during the offer period will forfeit the remainder of their offer. This limited time offer applies to both new and refurbished models, including devices from the iPhone Upgrade Program, is not restricted to any specific sales channel (e.g., Apple Store, resellers) and will be available in all countries where Apple TV+ will launch. Up to six family members can share one Apple TV+ subscription and watch using their own Apple ID and password. Only one one-year offer is available per family, regardless of the number of devices purchased.

It says to purchase September 10 or after, if it was delivered on that date , you might have ordered it before that and it does not qualify

Youll have to take a look in the TV App on Apple TV to see if it works for you.

  • In the Apple TV app in watch now, scroll down to the black thumbnail that says try for free, it should pop up right away to confirm, if it’s working for your purchase.

Redeem your free year of Apple TV+ now.

Apple TV+ debuts on November 1. So your free one-year subscription can start on or after that. Here’s how to redeem it:

Turn on your new Apple device and sign in with your Apple ID.

Open the Apple TV app. Make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, or macOS.

The offer should be presented immediately after launching the app. If not, go to the Apple TV+ channel page where you’ll see the offer.

Tap Enjoy 1 Year Free.

Look in your Notification Center. I got one telling me I had the free trial.

If you have no notification; in the Apple TV app in Apple TV:

Open Apple TV App and in WatchNow scroll down to to a big black thumbnail that says “Apple TV + try for free” , click on that and it pops right up in the upper right corner. Make sure it says one year, not the 7 day one.

Not sure how this appears on other devices with the tv app, since I have it now. It might be under Apple TV channels.

Hi, I purchased a brand new MacBook Pro (4x Thunderbird connections, 512Gb SSD, 2.4Ghz ... etc) from KRCS (a 'premium apple reseller') about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I had no idea about this offer at the time.

Yesterday or the day before 1st or 2nd November I had a notification on my phone that was only there for a few moments before vanishing (and I cannot find it now) that stated something like: "Your Purchase includes One year subscription to Apple TV+" ... that was the first time I had heard of this 'offer' - I originally thought it was to do with the new iPhone Pro Max I signed up to with Vodafone on Friday just gone (1st November), which should arrive this week - but I don't know if that counts, but this MacBook Pro (2019) should count.

Anyway, enough preamble, my Apple TV app only offers me Free for 7 Days then £4.99 after that - nothing about the one year subscription - unless the offer is only open in the US? I'm in the UK. I also purchased an Apple Watch series 5 on 27th September (but reading some of the above comments that does not appear to count)

The offer is for all countries that have Apple TV +, so you should have it.

You will need to look in the Apple TV App on a device using the latest software. Look for a black thumbnail that says Try it for free, click that and it should pop up.

If it’s still not showing up you can contact Apple and they will review your proof of purchase and give you a code to redeem. Have your info ready when you contact them.
