Is my Apple ID password the same as my iCloud password?

IS MY APPLE ID PASSWORD AUTOMATICALLY THE SAME PASSWORD AS FOR MY ICLOUD OR MUST I DESIGNATE IT?

Hello!


Your Apple ID and iCloud login account information is one and the same. What ever you use to get access to iCloud is the same information that you use with your Apple ID. Below you will find a link with some detailed information about your Apple ID

Yes, very helpful - finally, I now know they are both one and the same. One follow-on question: after changing one's Apple ID Password, is it necessary to do something else in connection with the Mail account? I ask because, having just changed that Password, I have had difficulty with Mail, receiving this error message: "This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with [my email address, which is my Apple ID]."

Is my Apple ID password the same as my iCloud password?
