Is the Apple Watch Series 2 compatible with an iPhone 11?

Apple Watch
I just purchased an iPhone 11 Pro Max and the software for my watch which is a series 2 Is unable to download a new operating system from my current version of 5.3.2 to your recommended operating 6, if I understand you correctly! So, now what do I do so I can pair my watch to my VERY expensive iPhone?
NO IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE (Watches series 1&2 ) UNTIL LATER THIS YEAR! Here is a cut from what I found in the picture supplied here;
They didn’t let us know in time that iOS 6 wouldn’t be released for the earlier editions in time. Basically those that have a Series 1 or 2 just need to wait. iOS 5 still works fine with the older iPhone models on iOS 13.
I have the same issue. After spending hours on the phone Apple finally said that it would not work....don't you think they should have known that? Bottom line...they have no solution and they do not care. No more Apple for me. I now have a watch that is useless. They said a software update is "coming" but they have no timeframe. Worst customer service ever. They just do not care about their customers. Spread the word......
My son has the original Apple Watch (Series 0) running Watch OS 4 and an iPhone 11 and he still gets texts, phone calls, and can run all the apps. Therefore it must be that Watch OS 6 is only compatible withe iOS 13. I just verified he is running Watch OS 4 and iOS 13 on a new iPhone 11.
I concur, I've had 2 recent issues with Apples service. First their update crashed my iPhone 7 which caused a repair for $350, now they send it back with IOS 13 and it no longer works with the series 2 watch. Two hours on the phone with Apple & no resolution. Androids is the next step as this is BS!
The series 2 can be upgraded to Watch OS 6 so it should be compatible.
It will work once iOS 6 is released for the older watches. The only one that won’t is the original Apple Watch.
They do not have a date for that and in the meantime I do not have use of the watch.
i tried connecting iPhone pro to my series 2 watch 5 times - it didn’t work. I tried restarting etc.
For what it’s worth my son has the original Apple Watch and it works great with his iPhone 11 running iOS 13.
Edit: Didn’t realize I’d already posted that above.
