Finder - can't find recent items
Why is the 'earlier' section in finder at the bottom? I have to scroll past 4 months of items to get to something I saved less than a minute ago.

Click on recents then press command-j and change the arrange by and sort order.
Have you clicked on the Date Modified header?
I figured it out. Click the hamburger menu at the top left of the finder window. Group by anything by Date … That will get rid of the Today, Yesterday, etc. section headings and allow it to be sorted by the other column headings. The menu item only shows up for me when the finder loads by trying to attached a file to slack, email, browser, etc.
Yes. It's sorted by data created in the screenshot above. That only sorts the files by section. So Today, sorted, then Yesterday sorted, then Previous 7 Days sorted. Again, recent is at the bottom of the finder window.
I'm talking about when the finder shows up after trying attached a file to an email for example. See the headings for Today, Yesterday, Previous 7 Days, etc. Recent is farther down past July (not in screenshot). For some reason a "recent" download does not immediately show up in the Today section.
Great work, thanks for the report! :)
I always found Today & Yesterday somewhere between useless & the most aggravating thing on earth... just give me the date.
