message badge counter disappeared

My message badge counter has gone since upgrade to IOS 12.4.1 - iPhone 7. Any one else having this issue?

Missing text messages I get my notifications for text messages on my Lock Screen & open phone-see the badge by text app saying there’s a message, but when I open app the message isn’t there & if I close the app, the badge disappears Sometimes I’ll get the message a few hours later & sometimes it never comes through (a few times I found them on my iPad-but not on my iPhone XR)

Badge for Messages App Won't clear On my iPhone XS, on the Home screen, the Messages app has a badge stuck at 3, even though I have no unread messages. It's been like this for several days. I just upgraded to IOS 13.5.1 - doesn't help. Also: I tried to power off, then back on, the phone - doesn't help. If I turn Settings -> Notifications -> Messages -> Badges off, the Badge icon will go away, but it comes back stuck at 3 if I turn Badge notifications back on. I guess I can live without Badge notifications for Messages, but this stuck Badge notification counter is annoying. Any ideas? If I have to reinstall the phone I'll need some help. Thanks!

Whatsapp Badge Disappears When Unread Messages Still Remain This has been asked before but never resolved. It may be a Whatsapp or Apple problem, of course. Is there a way to keep the Whatsapp badge showing on the Whatsapp icon on an iphone when you've opened messages from one chat but there are still messages unread from other chats? Having read messages in one chat, I don't necessarily want to read other chats' messages right then, but I would like the badge count of other unread messages to remain as a reminder. Thanks. This problem has persisted for a number of years. Currently iPhone 14 Pro iOS16

Did hard reboot & it’s back.

Glad you figured it out.

Usually hard reboot resolves all of the minor issues.
