No, you don't have to use a mount, although it´s easier to use.

To start head tracking turn on headtracking in Settings->Accessibility->Switch Control

Turn on Switch Control

Open Scanner menu

Select head tracking - ready!

Hi Khenkel27, sorry, but i don't work for Apple yet. I have found this headtracking feature in a website called ablenet.

They are having a good guide, you can find it at google (ablenet ios 13 tongue). Also look for https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201370

The feature is very hard to use. I hope, they will improve the usability of headtracking and show a video for examples of use.

The instructions don't match iOS 13's Settings navigation or some key setting are not stated.

  1. Settings->Accessibility->Switch Control
  2. Turn on Switch Control
  3. Open Scanner menu. ??
  4. Select head tracking

Step 3 does not match iOS 13

Where is Scanner Menu?

I know I can pull it up via a switch but it doesn't just pop up?

The only place I see Head Tracking is lower down under a sub heading "Point Scanning"

Werner181 do you work for Apple? The iPad Pro DOES have head tracking that utilizes the eyes to make selections on certain applications... does not require a switch. It seems that Apple's accessibility team is not even aware of this feature so they cannot help but it is there! I am a speech pathologist and have already used it on the app Predictable. I am not very impressed with head tracking feature on the iPad; hence, why I thought maybe a mount would help but so far it has not. I would love to work with someone from Apple who does know about this feature and can provide support. After all, they are selling the product and its being advertised.
