Hacking the Infrared Camera

I was wondering if it's possible for hackers to gain access to the infrared camera that's housed in the notch to spy on users like with the other cameras. While I realize that seeing through the infrared camera isn't part of the operating system, I do wonder if it might be worth considering to put tape over it as well, even if it means that Face ID won't be usable any more.

Hi, it would be extremely unlikely that a hacker would gain any access at all to your iPhone. Apple regularly update iPhones security through software updates. It's one of the most secure smartphones on the market. I don't think tape would be necessary and would make unlocking your phone with Face ID and general use a lot more difficult.
