I have an iPhone and I am in Italy and bought a SIM card here. When I took out my U.S. SIM card and added my new one I am not able to send receive any texts or iMessages. Should I take off my US phone number so I am able to receive texts? Thank you

You need to change the number linked to your Apple ID. Sign out of Messages/FaceTime, change the number, allow time for the change to sync, then sign back in.
