Pop-ups not getting blocked!

Pop-ups not getting blocked!

I've always had pop-up blocking turned on, and still do, but I've noticed lately that I'm getting bunches of pop-unders appearing. Just now, I activated Exposé to discover seven windows hiding behind the main one.

Have the pop-up creators found a way around pop-up blocking, or has something changed in Safari 5, or what? I never had this problem before a couple weeks ago. Any ideas?

17" MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Try GlimmerBlocker. http://glimmerblocker.org/

Haven't had a popup since I installed it.

Compatible with Safari 5 and up to Snow Leopard v10.6.4

Looking at the GlimmerBlocker web site, I see it says:

Because GlimmerBlocker doesn't hack Safari, there is a few things it isn't able to do: \[...] stopping pop-unders

Since I'm having a pop-under problem, I guess that won't work, unfortunately.

You aren't getting any pop-unders? They're awfully easy to miss if you don't use Exposé and never close your main browser window without quitting Safari...

Nary a one.

I close Safari often, empty the cache and relaunch.

Not even Netflix has got by GlimmerBlocker and it's only block I've tried that did that.

I don't get them and have never had any Safari extra except ClickToFlash installed.

I've had no problems with popups on the MAC until this last week. They're getting more frequent on Safari and Firefox. I know programmers are getting past the blockers but I'm still surprised about the numbers getting through on the MAC. We get less on the pc. (that's bad). I just installed the add-ons for Firefox. Does anyone know if they work?
