I changed my apple id on my accounts page, verified the devices on my account. But when I get on my laptop and go to Preferences and open up iCloud it still shows the defunct apple id. How do I get rid of the old and have the laptop bring in the new id?

I did get it to work. I had to sign out of the iCloud, then sign back in and manually enter the new I’d. Then I went to Passwords and delayed the choices that included the old id.

What happens when you try? Error message(s)? More information would help. Have you tried restarting the computer?
