All my songs are gone
I woke up last month and discovered that all my songs were gone and my Apple Music restarted. It’s asking me to rejoin Apple Music.
Plus my phone shows that I have some songs but I can’t even access them.
I’m very confused

Get help with iCloud Music Library - Apple Support
If you can’t see iCloud Music Library on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
First, restart your iOS device.
If you still can't see it after the restart:
1. Turn off iCloud Music Library and then turn it back on.
2. Sign out of the iTunes Store and then sign back in.
Continue with the last step: Sign out of the iTunes Store and then sign back in.
Also verify the active status of your subscription: View your subscriptions. If it says expired for Apple Music, then that would be a good reason why it doesn’t work.
When you deactivate your subscription, then you lose access to all features of the subscription. Including its music tracks.
Thanks but I don’t have the option to turn on music library and turn it off. This is what i have
You woke up last month?
it appears your subscription is not active. You might want to verify your payment method is valid
Yes I deactivated my subscription because I got double charged in May and it’s still not sorted but that shouldn’t be the reason why all the songs I had downloaded wiped off.
Or is it?
The downloaded music is only there for you to use while subscribed . They are not for you to keep.
So downloaded music that you have bought can disappear? Music that you have transferred from your PC onto an apple device can disappear too? Since when did we have to subscribe?
You don’t have to subscribe. Apple Music is a Service that provides free music to use while the subscription is active. If you cancel then you obviously lose the service.
