Use Apple TV to trigger HomeKit automation to dim lights

Apple TV doesn’t show up for me as an accessory in HomeKit automation. Is that ‘as designed’ or can I use turning it on as a way to automating dimming the lights?

Why can't I use the Home App Automation to automatically turn on my Apple TV? I have searched the net and all I see is that I cannot use automations to turn on my Apple TV via HomeKit. This is nuts, completely insane. Can some one here help me figure out how to do this because it certainly is not intuitive by combing through the Home App. Any Apple specialists, pls don't say...I understand you want to learn more about how to use the Home app....if you're going to reply, pls be pertinent to my specific question, otherwise it's a waste of everyones time, including yours.

How to have the Apple TV trigger a scene I would like to have the state of the Apple TV trigger a scene. Scene 1: room lights dimmed at 100% Scene 2: room lights dimmed at 5% Scene 3: room lights dimmed at 20% Let’s say, I start with Scene 1 activated. I would like to have my Apple TV in an automation trigger Scene 2 as soon as it is playing a movie or TV show. Then, when I pause—I have to take bathroom breaks from time to time when binge-watching a show—I’d like an automation recognize that the Apple TV is paused and activate Scene 3. When pressing Play again, I’d like the earlier automation to kick in again and dim down the lights. Finally, when the movie or show is finished playing, I’d like another automation to activate Scene 1 again. How would I go about doing this in the Home App? I can’t seem to be able to incorporate the Apple TV into any automations. Keywords: HomeKit, Automation, Scenes

Controlling Apple TV with HomeKit Have the Apple TV 4K showing up in HomeKit as a hub but can’t control it with any of the scene settings. Ex. I have a Phillips hue set up with the Phillips Switch. I want to hit the on (top) button and lights come up (that’s working) and the tv to come on through Apple TV (also working). Just can’t get the functionality of putting the Apple TV into Standby thusly turning off the TV (working).

Apple TV can be a home hub for HomeKit accessories, but it is itself not an accessory to be automated.
