Hello. I currently have the MacBook Pro 2019 with 8GB of RAM. But I'm considering exchanging it for the one with 16GB. I only bought my MacBook a couple days ago so I know I'm well within the return/exchange dates.
However, my question was whether I'd get refunded completely for the laptop and then required to buy the MacBook again or will I just be asked to pay $180 for the RAM?

I think it would be handled as a return followed by a new purchase.
Credit is usually by same method as payment. If that over-runs your credit card limit, you may have to call your card-servicer and explain the situation. They can see transactions up-to-the-minute, even if they stall around for three days doing nothing about it, "waiting for it to clear".

You can return it within 14 days for a refund. You can then buy a different one. And no, RAM cannot be added; it has to be done at the factory.
You return your current device and get a full refund. You are not doing an exchange; you are doing a return.
You will then need to order/buy one with 16 GB RAM.
Here is the "buy" website of the online Apple store; price difference for the 13" model appears to be $200.
I mean can I add on the price of the RAM when I exchange it for the new one. I understand the RAM is soldered onto the MacBooks. I guess I didn't make it clear enough T.T
