iPhone 8 Screen Orientation

My iPhone 8 randomly changes the screen orientation from portrait to landscape within several apps (Mail, Message, Twitter etc.) is this something that is common? Is there a fix? TYIA

Oh, I see. We can't diagnose that kind of issue remotely, sorry, but you could have your accelerometer checked at an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider. After testing it, they'll give you the proper answer (along with all the available options):--> Apple – Location Selector

Well, if you rotate your device, it's normal.

You can avoid that behavior opening the Control Center and tapping the lock icon. The device will stay in portrait mode, until you tap again on that icon.

If you meant something different, please better explain your issue.

Giulio, I was not clear and I apologize for that: this happens randomly and not when I rotate my device. Once the phone switches to landscape (in any application) the only way I can get it back to portrait is a hard re-boot shutting the phone down.
