Why does iCloud backup say never even though the backup has been done recently?

Do you see the backup in Settings>Your Name>iCloud>Apps Using iCloud>Backup>On? If you see the date and time of the last backup, then you have a backup. You can also see it in Settings>Your Name>iCloud>Manage Storage>Backups.
