I am using QuickTime to play a movie for a class. I have speakers attached with the 1/8 in jack, but the audio is still low when turned all the way up.
Is there any software that I can use to boost the sound?

Get better speakers (more dB), or install an app to boost audio output (e.g. Boom 2).
VLC media player allows to boost the volume to 200% within that application.
eqMac promises to alter the audio output system wide, equalizer style, including volume boost as an option.
Software is ideally what I am looking for that can help boost the sound. Is there something like Boom2 that is a freeware?
