"Device is unreachable" error message via Windows? Here's the fix.

If you are getting this message, you are not alone. I had trouble myself in figuring out why I kept getting this message when trying to import my photos and videos to my PC.

Before continuing, make sure you have HEIF Image Extensions installed. This can be downloaded via the Microsoft Store (formerly Windows Store).

All you have to do is update the driver via Device Manager. There are a few ways to open Device Manager. One way is simply right-clicking Start and selecting Device Manager. Next, select Portable Devices. Right-click your connected device and select Update driver. Make sure to select the Search automatically ... option. Lastly, you will then be prompted to restart your PC.

Afterwards, you should now be able to import all of your photos and videos from your device to your PC. This should also allow you to sync your device via iTunes 12.10.

I hope this helps!
