RG6 BNC Connector to MAC

(Mac newbie here!) I am trying to determine if it is possible to connect a set of Blackmagic Design SmartView Duo Rackmountable Dual 8" LCD Monitors to an iMac or not. The monitor output is via RG6 BNC cables. Is there an adapter I can use to connect to an iMac?

Without knowing your specific iMac model and the ports that it has, it's difficult to provide the exact adapters you might need. If you can get the iMac output to HDMI then Black Magic has a converter that should work. I agree with Allan that it would be helpful to discuss possible solutions with Black Magic.

Not finding one from my "usual suspects" but you might be better served by contacting the maker of the display (instead of B&H) and ask what Mac-compatible adapter and/or cable they have tested. I've had times when dealing with vendors that I received incorrect or incomplete information that was cleared up by a manufacturer's support staff.

The Black Magic displays the OP specified expect an RG6 BNC input for the SDI video signal. An adapter, probably the one I highlighted in my previous response will likely be needed. Since this type of external display isn't typical for most Mac users your original suggestion to contact Black Magic is a good one, especially since the OP indicated being new to Mac's.

This Wiki page provides more info on the SDI connection:

bnc connector from back in the old days were analogue signals like subD VGA connectors and you could get a cable with VGA in one end and 4 or 6 or whatever coax bnc's in the ohter end

if one gets a adaptor from thunderbolt to vga then that cable may work

both vga and bnc are last millennium tech though
