Lost AirPods & I travel A LOT!!!

If I’m miles away from my lost AirPods and someone finds them, will I get a notification when they try to reconnect them or something?

No, the Airpods can only communicate by Bluetooth (a couple of hundred feet at best) and unless I am mistaken they do not have any way to connect to the Internet directly, only to your device.

Limnos is correct. Your iOS device or Mac can only "find" them if they are a short distance away ... basically within Bluetooth range.

Airpods also do not have the personalization features of a device capable of features such as Activation Lock. They really are just a simple Bluetooth accessory.
