change apple id email

i cant get my old email address changed, it keeps asking for the password of old apple id email, im trying to update my id from yahoo.com to gmail.com

Can you recover the password from the Yahoo site? or is it asking for the password of the old ID?

Enter the Apple (iCloud) ID and click Forgot Password.
