I am looking at the article HT201322 & cannot find how to unhide an iOS purchase. I am able to download the app following the steps in the article but in the store it is as I never purchased the app plus the app is still listed as hidden. I tried on both an iPhone & an iPad (both running iOS 12.4.1).
What did I miss?
Had the same issue when I set up family purchase sharing and accidentally hide Minecraft from my kids and couldn't unhide. It just lets you click on the app but freezes.
In order to fix the issue I downloaded iTunes onto my old Windows Laptop (as no option on my MacBook) and followed these steps:
Store> Scrolled down to the bottom and clicked Account under Manage>Logged in> Scrolled down to iTunes in the Cloud and clicked on Manage next to Hidden Purchases> Apps>Found Minecraft>Unhide
Worked a treat, sorry if the steps are a bit clunky but hope this helps anyone having the same issues.

Open App Store App>tap on your photo>tap on your name>tap on hidden purchases>tap on any purchase you want to unhide. Note - if the app is not longer supported by the iOS it will not unhide.
