Safari 13 hangs using whatsapp

Are you running any anti - virus programs? Using a VPN?

Try setting up another admin user account in System Preferences/Users & Groups to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

WhatsApp seems to have fixed this Problem as of Sat. Sept. 21st 2019 in the morning MET. Kill Safari 13 and reload the WhatsApp WebApp before it hangs.

It's already fixed by WhatsApp, just logout and login, then it works in the normal safari window.

Today, after signing out and in again, it started to work without crashing.

Hello, found a solution, simply download WhatsApp and install and it works.

I just might found a temporary solution.

Open WhatsApp Web in New Private Window in Safari.

Same here. Looks like something in whatsapp web is not compatible with Safari 13 engine.

I'm waiting a fix update to repair that.

Have you contacted the web. site support to see if they have any suggestions?

the bug has re-appeared with the introduction of Safari 13.0.1 😩

Today, as of September 28, it is fixed "again".

It is something to fix by WhatsApp, and it seems like they will have to tweak something, every time safari updates.

When I try to open a chat window in WhatsApp, my Safari 13 crashes, too.

It's MacBook Air, 2019 with 16 Gibs of Ram.

This definitely seems like a problem of Safari 13, because WhatsApp continues to work in FireFox without any problem.

You would need to restore the entire computer to a backup made prior to installing Safari 13.

So far Safari 13 killed my extensions and now this. I wish there would have been a warning! Anyone knows how to downgrade to 12? TimeMachine doesn't seem to allow it :(
