Quicktime Player (Version 10.5 ) not functioning properly

I running macOS Mojave 10.14.6 and have the above version of QuickTime player pre installed, however my problem is that I have one hour screen videos that I'm recording and I sit and wait for the video to get to the end so I can stop the recording then it brings up my recording and I discover that its only recorded the first five minutes or ten if I'm lucky this is a continued problem which is now driving me nuts.

What is going wrong and before its mentioned the sleep/nap settings are all set to never etc...

Please help, my iMac is also only five months old so before I throw the **** thing out of the window and totally give up on Apple products can someone please help me?

Thanks in advance

Hi Mazz76,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand that QuickTime Player is not capturing the full length of your screen recordings. I'll be happy to help.

First step is to ensure that there's enough storage capacity on your Mac. Here's a helpful article on how to check: How to free up storage space on your Mac If there's enough storage space, the next step is to reset the NVRAM (nonvolatile random-access memory) and test if you're able to capture a full screen recording in QuickTime Player.

Best regards.
