Compass does not show up on my watch

I haven't been able to find an Apple document that says what you claim.

Can you produce the support document that says the series 4 does have the hardware? I really hope it is true.

I'm having the same problem. Tried to get it from the App Store but it says iPhone required. I've got the iPhone but what do I do now? I was missing the Calculator and Voice Memos but got those with a reboot of the watch.

Where did you hear that? Apple Support stated there were minor bugs with preinstalled apps and the new iOS 6. your series 4 has everything for a compass. Apple Inc stated that the series 4 can do as the 5 but the always on.

I did a reboot of the Apple Watch and got the Calculator and the Voice Memos to show up, so you might try it. To reboot press the crown and the side button at the same time and hold until the display turns off. Release and the watch should turn ON with the Apple logo showing. It may take a couple of minutes to finish.

Hope this gets the Compass for you.

Oh, and I was listening to the Apple WatchCast #295 this morning and at 23:00 they started talking about the Compass app and how there was now a chip in the Series 5 that included a compass, so now the watch can have a compass app. They said the Series 4 did not have that chip inside.

Well, I know what my problem is. I have a Series 4 and I just read that the 4 doesn't have the hardware for a compass.

If that reboot doesn't work for you then you might call Apple Support, since you just bought the watch. They may be able to tell you if this is a bug in WatchOS6.

Same experience. rebooted both watch and iphone. I can find the compass app in the app store, but when I download it, I get "iphone required"

Automatic downloads is already enabled on my watch. Tried to disable/enable - no luck.
