18 watt for iPad air 2?

Can I savely use the 18 watt adaptor from my new iphone 11 pro for my older iPad air 2?

The iPad came with a 10 watt adaptor, not sure whether the 18 watt version could cause damage to my iPad.

as long as the connector fits and the device does not output higher than the std. 5volt that all ios devices charge with

then it can never harm even if the smaller iphone ac chargers can't provide enough amps for the ipad to charge other than really slowly

watt == amps * volt

amps are a measurement of how many amps a device can draw from the charger before the chargers has to lower the volts
