I can’t figure out how to get my old messages back onto to my new phone
Are you using the same Apple ID on the new phone that you used on the old phone?
If you were syncing Messages with iCloud, have you set up iCloud syncing on the new phone?
If you weren't syncing messages with iCloud, the messages should be part of the backup of the old phone. If you restore the backup, you should get the messages.

So I recently got an iphone 11 and I’m in the process of backing up info and putting it onto my new phone. I’ve gotten all of my stuff except previous messages. What happened or what should I do to get those?
