does my extra icloud storage include email space

Hi Apple Peeps...

I have just created an @icloud email address for myself and am hoping to use this as my main email address and phase my old out. My previous email address comes with loads of storage space so I've never had an issue with this but I'm aware that the Apple one has only 5GB. I already pay for extra iCloud storage each month anyway for my Phone and Mac backup for files, photos, etc, so I'm wondering would this include additional space for more than 5GB of emails as well?

Any help would be appreciate on this.

You only have one iCloud storage space. If you pay for 2TB, that is your one and only storage space and everything including your emails go against that storage limit. In other words, you have upgraded from a total of 5GB to a total of 2TB; you don't have both.

Great so just to clarify... for example, I pay for 2TB of extra space per month so any emails over the 5GB allowance would go into this space instead? (obvs I would be highly surprised if I filled up 2TB worth of emails!!!)
