iOS 13 Update— FaceTime front camera

So my friend had this issue on an iPhone X and we just solved it. By pressing the volume up and down button, then immediately holding the power button until the phone restarted (Hard reset). Hope this works for you.

i had same issue on my iPhone 11 pro max. I turn my phone off and turn it back on. It works now.

So I fixed this by going into effects and trying to put on a filter for your face. This fixed the issue for me immediately

After several reboot the camera is working again... I hope that's not hanging again.

Same thing here on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. Front camera works fine in camera mode but in FaceTime, it’s nearly black. When in a bright room, it shows a very dim picture, practically black when the same shot in camera mode looks normal. It’s as if the aperture is nearly closed causing the picture to be way too dark but only for FaceTime calls. Hopefully fixed in the upcoming 13.1.

Same problem. Took a bit to find this post. The person I face timed with did not update to 13.0. I could see them fine, but my front camera shows VERY Dark (almost black) to both of us. The back camera works fine. Good thing I have not upgraded my iPad. I guess we are waiting for a patch release now...

I did turned it off as well and it worked. Hope to works for everyone. X

Same here: iPhone XS. With camera app everything is ok, when using FT it’s all black. I’ve tryied a restart, a reset/restore but nothing...

Mine too, I have an XS MAX and it’s totally dark during FaceTime but works perfectly fine in my apps or when I try to take a selfie.

Yep same thing. Front camera on Face Time is black or extremely dark.
