Blue dot next to message in sent box

I see that this question has been asked before but it has not been really explained.

When i check my "sent" box in Yahoo mail, certain sent messages have a solid blue dot

(indicating according to some people that the message has not been read) However, when I check with the recipient, they have indeed read the message! Sometimes i know this because they respond immediately and yet i still have a blue dot next to certain messages. I have not received a logical explanation as to why this is happening.

I assume this is on the Mac Pro in your equipment line, but what macOS version are you running? The forum for your OS version is a better place to ask because you are now in the section for reporting problems using the forums, and you won't get the number of views that an OS forum gets.

Lets us know what Os version is on the Mac Pro (or, if not a Mac Pro issue, what Apple device is involved), and we can ask the Host to relocate you query to a more active and appropriate forum.

Thanks,

Thanks Allan. When I click on the little apple icon is says I have a MacBook Pro and it says MacOS Mojave - 10.14.6

(I am a senior citizen and not very good with computers) I just sent a message to my husband on yahoo and told him not to open it. I checked my sent box and there is a blue dot. Then I told him to open it. There is still a blue dot!! (This problem is recent and out of over 5,000 sent messages in my sent box, blue dots only started appearing recently!) I appreciate your getting this question to someone who might help.

Thanks again. We're the same age...I used to think I was smart...but getting dumber every week.

(I actually "surfed" google for an answer but it is always the same obvious one - it means the message wasn't read.

But that is not the case as every message with a blue dot has been read and answered....It probably is something ridiculously simple but not obvious to 72 yr olds!
