How to turn off dark mode in 6s

Hi I am not able to turn off dark mode in iPhone 6s. I tapped on light mode but it not responding. Please help me.

I found out one way to do it, purely by accident. In Settings, Display & Brightness, switch True Tone on, then switch it back off again. This fixed the problem on my XS.
