iOS 13 - Cannot disable Downtime for Safari

Not only is there no option to select Safari as an Always Allowed app to exclude it from Downtime, with iOS 13, websites do not offer an option to ignore the Downtime Setting. So Safari is totally disabled and in no way accessible during the downtime hours.

Hey there Julianna Kahn,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you have some concerns about using Screen Time on iOS 13. I’ll be happy to help with this.

I just checked on one of my devices running iOS 12 and Safari is not showing up under Always Allow there as well. This looks to be expected and there is an option to restrict Safari under Content & Privacy Restrictions > Allowed Apps. You can read more about this here:

Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

As for the Ignore Limit not being seen in Safari, does this happen in both landscape and portrait mode? There has been a recent update released, iOS 13.1, that includes many fixes. Back up your iPhone, install the update, and see if this helps.

Best wishes.

I'm having the same issue as the original poster - it's not that I want Safari to have downtime, i was to EXCLUDE it from downtime. There is not an option to exclude it (like messages, FaceTime, Phone) which means every time I need to open a link for some reason and it auto-defaults to launching Safari, I have to override the time limit for the day. Even when I choose "Ignore for today", it reprompts me every time Safari refreshes or tries to navigate to somewhere else.

Is there any way to ALWAYS ALLOW Safari access?
