Thank you for posting. I see you have a question about using MIDI controller knobs in GarageBand.

What you describe is a function of Logic Pro X, but it does not look to be supported in GarageBand: Automatically assign MIDI controller knobs, sliders, and other controls with Logic Pro X 10.2.2. That resource covers devices that support this function in Logic Pro X if you wanted to look into that as a possibility.

Depending on exactly what you want to do, this might be helpful to do something similar in GarageBand: GarageBand for Mac: Use automation in the Piano Roll Editor
