gsm/cdma
I was wondering if all iphones are both gsm/cdma compatible? im looking to buy an iphone off of amazon and if it says gsm unlocked will it work with cdma too? or just gsm?

It depends upon the model and without that information your question becomes unmanageable. Most modern iPhones can handle both.
The best way is to look at this list of which models are supported by which carriers in which countries. It also mentions CDMA and GSM.
