Cursor stutters when USB adapter is plugged in

Hi there,

I have a 2019 MacBook Pro 15" and I bought a third party adapter so I can plug USB devices into the Thunderbolt ports. However, every time I plug in the adapter, the cursor seems to freeze for a fraction of a second every 5 seconds or so. It doesn't seem to make a difference which of the 4 thunderbolt ports it is plugged in to.

This is a big problem for me because the only thing I need the USB port for is a drawing tablet and just to clarify, the cursor hangs no matter what peripheral I am using to control the pointer, trackpad or tablet. I know it can't be the tablet itself because it hangs even when it is JUST the adapter plugged in.

Diagnostic update: After analysing the console, every time the mouse stutters, the console spits out 2 yellow error messages:

<private>: Event enqueue error:0xe00002e8 type:11 sender:0x10000dfea
<private>: Event enqueue dropped:1 consecutive events

Both messages are from process hidd (IOKit)

I've noticed recent versions of macOS will freeze the pointer for five seconds or so whenever you connect a new device or connect an ethernet cable. I'm not sure exactly when this behavior started, but it is annoying.

I'd like to add: Looking at the reviews, a couple other people had the same experience with this adapter on Mojave with the 2018 and 2019 MBP.
