I have the apple watch version 4 or what eve the newest one is, and it keeps asking me for my apple ID even if I just put it in. I went into settings and there is no option to enter my password to reset. How do I fix this?

I haven’t had this issue for weeks now. I deleted any apps (I have a lot 🥴) that showed the cloud with arrow because it won’t update so is probably old & obsolete. The email address that previously popped up was an old one that was for an iPod (I also reset the iPod) & the ID is no longer valid (not used since 2012) so couldn’t sign in anyway. But the problem has stopped.

Apple is either being invaded by space invaders or they no longer care about their machines working--just selling them.

Yes, the people who answer the phone are amazing, but I am tired of having to fix all the glitches I am experiencing lately.

I see there’s now 19 pages of comments. I’m not sure what I did right but I have not had this happen for several weeks now.

My watch was asking me to sign into an obsolete Apple ID, it was one I used on an old iPod dating back to about 2012. I couldn’t even sign in to Apple on the website with it as I no longer remembered the password & when I tried to reset password I got the error message ‘this Apple ID is not valid’

The main things I did was reset the iPod to factory settings & deleted all the apps on my iphone that wouldn’t update, old/obsolete apps show a cloud with an arrow.

i think I’ve had 2 iOS updates since it stopped the password request & it hasn’t come back, so yay!

Maybe these solutions could help someone else 😊

I fought this problem for a week. Finally I got it. The watch prompts for your apple password. On the watch tap Password and them the little keyboard on the watch. At the exact same time that you tap the keyboard on the watch, your phone prompts you for action (it happens so fast I can't ever tell you what it said) - be ready to tap the prompt on you phone. If you catch it in time, the phone brings up a place to enter the password. I entered my Apple app store/itunes password. That was what it wanted. I hope it works for you too!

This was a frustrating thing for me. I found it by watching my phone to see what would flash up on the phone when I would hit the little keyboard on the watch. I finally saw that it was an entry box. It flashes on the phone screen so fast I could not even read it, then it goes away! So do this: put your: iphone in your lap where you can quickly touch the box that will flash at the top of the phone screen. Follow the prompts on the watch to get to that PASSWORD then KEYBOARD. When you tap that little KEYBOARD on your watch your phone opens up a box for you to enter the password. You have to be fast. When you finally get to that point and you tap the box on your iphone, a keyboard will pop up, on the phone, for you to enter your password. The first time I did it I entered my itunes apple store password. That worked for about a day. Then when it asked again the next day I entered my iCloud password, because I have them separate for some reason... Anyway once I had entered them both I was done. It never asked me for the password again.
