Airprint taking a SUPER long time to send data to printer...

I am using a macbook air 2018 and a Canon MF733 printer. When I print it says "Printing - waiting for job to complete".... It eventually does, but literally 3 or 4 hours later.... is this an Airprint error? Setup error?

That's 3 or 4 hours too long.

Read Solve printing problems on Mac. Exhaust all its suggestions, from top to bottom.

Add to them restarting your router, wireless access point, printer, Mac, or all of the above. Start with the router.
