I live in a city that is hyper aware of the air quality from day to day. Last week, my Apple Watch weather and the weather app on my phone have stopped updating the air quality. My watch shows, “51 Moderate,” and the air quality portion has completely disappeared from the app. Has anyone ever seen this before? Why does it happen?

There are loads of other weather apps you can get from the App Store. The one I like the best is Weather Bug and it most definitely displays Air Quality.
The weird thing is that the Weather Channel is what (seems to) provide the information to Apple Weather and the Weather Channel app shows the air quality. Seems to be an Apple Weather issue. Have you ever heard of that before?
I haven't, but then I find the Weather App pretty poor all around, so I don't use it.
Check Settings --> Weather. I think you'll need to enable it first. Maybe this information (air quality) is not available in every city / area.
