iPhone 11 on iOS 13 having Bluetooth connectivity issues

New iPhone 11 on iOS 13 is having Bluetooth connectivity issues.

both my daughter and I are having the similar issues.

daughters phone is an 11 64GB Purple.

mine is an 11 128GB White

Hers gets connected to her 2018 Toyota C-HR and constantly drops out. Her iPhone 7 Plus never had any issues.

I have mine connected to a Boss BT module on my motorcycle. Never had any issues with my iPhone X.

neither of our other phones we’re running iOS 13.

I updated to 13.1.2 It looks like "MOST" of my issues have been fixed with this latest update. My 2012 Scion xB stock stereo is now not dropping or getting garbled calls. My iFrogz headphones are now staying connected when paused in Pandora.

The only remaining bug(s) I'm seeing are:

  1. Hey Siri is somewhat spotty. Like the phone isn't hearing me sometimes. Very random.
  2. When placing a call via Hey Siri in my car, the bluetooth connection between my iphone 11 and my scion xB, will connect/disconnect several times before the dialing sound starts. Once the dialing starts, it stays connected.

I have an IPhone 11 pro bought on preorder. First time every pre-ordering now every time I get in my truck (which is at least 20 times per day) I have to forget the device and reconnect manually this is quite frustrating and thus forces me to listen to the radio.

Have also had problems with it dropping connectivity with my headphone but will reconnect on its own within a couple minutes

I hope Apple can get this problem resolved for us!

I would venture that that is another issue as my wife has an 11, has multiple devices connected simultaneously and no issue.

We will continue seeing this so long as Apple insists on using its loyal user base as beta testers for its hardware. Being so scared of repeating the Gizmodo experience with the iPhone 4 in the bar has caused them to lock their hardware down WAY too much before launches.

I’m experiencing issues connecting Spotify to my BMW’s stereo as well as Bluetooth calls—also cannot connect a Bose speaker and a beats speaker. It connects but then playback is spotty, so I don’t think it has anything to do with which app you’re using. I’ve installed the update and continue to have the same issues. Spotify is frustrating but not being able to use my phone hands free is just unacceptable. It’s illegal to touch your phone in Washington while driving so this is beyond frustrating. Im missing work calls while I’m on the road or dropping them mid call...I’m regretting upgrading. Really hope Apple fixes the issue promptly.

Same issue here, iPhone 11 128GB black iOS 13.1.2. I've owned every iPhone since day one and have never had this issue. My phone does not hold connection to bluetooth with my car which is a total nightmare considering the phone is my access key to the car. I'm by no means an apple "basher" but common Apple! My apple watch has also been acting up not allowing me to utilize shortcuts. I keep getting "shortcuts is currently unavailable on Apple Watch." This has to be the worst iOS release ever!!

I paid a lot of money for apple products and the echo system, all I ask is for apple to make my devices work as advertised.

I would start with the easiest thing to diagnose being the smart watch. Have you tried to update the software on the watch recently since updating to iOS 13?

Sorry I'm not sure which watch you have but try searching the serial or model number on the support page and seeing if anything new has been released for an update

For the car I think the only solution currently is to update firmware as mine has been happy since i did mine. if your car is still in the warranty period, then the manufacturer shouldn't have to charge for this. Unless like mine it is not then you will probably have to pay a fee. Not what anyone likes to hear but this was the step I took and it worked.

It's an interesting report about the Jaguar XE, since my Range Rover has the same system (JLR).

Even if a car needs a software update then Apple should have issued a warning:

  • Don't upgrade to iOS13 because you might loose bluetooth connection with several cars;
  • Don't buy a brand new iPhone 11 (that will have iOS13) because it might not work with your car.

So the message to anyone thinking of buying an iPhone (11 or even an older model) is DON'T BUY because you might not get bluetooth working. It's a risk. Maybe you're lucky, maybe not...

Such an expensive phone should not be a roulette!!

Same issue here. The iPhone 11 Pro Max disconnects and reconnects every few minutes; sometimes. It held on to bluetooth connection for long drives from when I received it until I updated to 13.1.2. The bluetooth connection to my 2019 Mercedes Sprinter is no longer usable, since it disconnects and blasts radio. It actually feels dangerous, and not in the fun way that Apple products should feel dangerous while driving.

Wife and I are having the same issues. We both have iPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB Devices that are both 4 days old. We both have the UConnect 8.4N systems in our Dodge cars (2014 Dodge Journey and 2015 Dodge Dart GT). Never had problems with our iPhones and connections to these systems until the 11 Pro Max. Even my iPhone X 256GB (with iOS 13.1.2) doesn't have connection/retaining connection issues that the 11 Pro Max has. They connect about 1 out of 10 times.....

Im having the same issues with my iPhone 11, the bluetooth connection with carplay or Alexa remains, but music and phone calls get constantly interrupted. I’m still within the 14 days return policy and Im seriously thinking in returning the phone. The big question for me is: Is it fixable? Should I wait for Apple to fix it?

Same problem. Had Muriel other iPhones no problem with my vehicles or peripherals. 8 plus was flawless. 11pro disconnects from my AirPods when answering the phone or playing music. I have to reconnect all the time....

also selecting text doesn’t work as well. The handles don’t move as consistently when you press and drag.
