I bought a new MacBook air (A1932) and at first I had issues getting it to download anything, but it did an update and safari etc started working. Now I can't open the app store. I have never had this problem with new MacBooks before.

It isn't an app that won't open, the app store won't open. All of the apps so far that I have are opening fine. I want to purchase a new app and I can't open the store.
It opens, but it is just a blank gray screen
