I bought yesterday the iPhone 11 Pro Max and I am worried about the heating issue.

Using only WhatsApp and Twitter makes the phone hotter than never!

I turned off Bluetooth and Hotspot and restarted the phone, few minutes later the device was almost on fire! You can see the activity screen.

Not sure if the phone is searching for the 4G antennas all the time or if it’s a battery issue.

It seems there’s a big issue with the new 11 Pro Max, it’s NOT normal to heat like that.

I don't have iPhone 11 myself. But I have read stories from new iPhone 11 users. It seems only occur to very few users, and what they experience seem to me very likely to be hardware issue.

I would wait and see. Not sure how bad is the issue.

I did have an Apple TV 4k before, it crashed on certain streaming apps. Though it appeared to be software issue, I am convinced now it's hardware defects of that unit. So if I would had an overheating iPhone 11, I return it without hesitation.

Me, my mom and my sister all bought the IPhone 11 Pro Max this past Friday. My phone and my mom’s phone are overheating. I had an iPhone 8 Plus and never had this problem. In fact, I am currently working with Verizon to see if I can get a replacement but now found out from my mom that her phone is also overheating so I don’t know whats going on. I just updated the software a couple hours ago to the new IOS 13.1 but that hasn’t fixed the problem.

I just came downstairs to grab my iPhone 11 which had been charging while slept to find it frozen with a high temperature warning ! I left it off the charger for 30 minutes and restarted and it seems to be fine but why is this happening? I don’t have anything different on it than my prior iPhone 6S and that NEVER happened. Is this being looked at?

I just purchased my iPhone 11 (regular 128gb; not a Pro version) yesterday, 09/25, and I'm experiencing the same 'running hot' issue. I can disregard the initial setup of the phone running hot (which it was doing), but now that I'm experiencing it the following day (today) it is concerning for a new phone such as this. It's running so hot, I'm not only feeling it on the back of the phone, but also on the sides/edges of the phone.

For background, my previous phone was an iPhone 8 (64gb) and I very rarely, if ever, noticed a similar occurrence during the ~2 years that I had/used it.

Hopefully this is being addressed soon, or I'll be planning to make an appointment at my local Apple store.

I have the red iPhone 11 and I love it but there’s only 1 thing. I do have an issue with overheating but only when I use Instagram. Ever since I got the phone I noticed I wasn’t able to use Instagram properly meaning the app would just crash. Then when I would keep re-opening the app I noticed my phone would overheat to the point I couldn’t hold it. So then I just get off Instagram. Then earlier today I kept going on the app after it would crash because I was trying to watch a 13 min video and the phone got extremely hot so I held the edges because I was tryna watch this video and it started to burn. I brought the phone to my nose and it was the source so I turned it off after and now I know not to push the limits but now I’m looking for a solution. Hope my feedback is helpful.

I was in an Apple store yesterday and noticed the issue with iphone 11 overheating on the lower part of the screen. I tested all 10 phones on display and every single one was overheating! I also chevkedvthe 11 pro models but none were overheating. I then raised the issue with a sales person but she was in denial!

I would not buy this phone. That kind of explains why they are selling it cheaper than the XR model from last model. Very disappointed as i now have to buy a pro and pay a lot more money!!!

I actually just did the same thing. Went into my local Apple Store thinking to buy the regular 11 but all the display models were hot. I checked Pro and they were all cool. Just opening the camera was making 11 warm. It made me nervous to buy 11 so now I’m waiting for Pro to be in stock.

You may be waiting a long time. No one I know have overheating problems with any of their 11 or 11 Pros.

The issue with you are your Mom may be the reception at your house, any phone has to strain to get a signal it will heat up rapidly. You could always make a Genius Bar appointment and have them tested.

i purchased an $1,100 iPhone 11 Pro on November 9th 2019 and it is constantly getting hot and freezing to where i can’t even restart the phone until it cools down. The screen just freezes and holding the power and volume up button does nothing. It usually overheats when charging, but also happens after several minutes of use. I have the phone set on low power settings but the battery runs down a lot faster than my previous iPhones. I am very unhappy with this expensive iPhone 11 Pro. Also this iPhone replaced my 13 month old iPhone X that the GPS quit working after updating iOS to version 12. The upgrade came out 12 months and 5 days after i purchased phone so the warranty was expired and Apple did nothing for me. I still owe $575 on the iPhone X :-(. I cannot stand android so I’m am stuck with Apple! It really sucks as Apple is seriously going down hill!!!
