OS X 10.8.5 How to clone hdd to ssd including Recovery Partition

Hi,

got a MBP 2009/2010 with Mountain Lion 10.8.5 installed and want to swap from my old HDD to a SSD.

The HDD has only 190Gb data and I got a 500Gb SSD.

I already tried using TimeMachine and backed up on my new SSD.

Installing the SSD and trying to get into Recovery mode Cmd+Alt+R isn’t working and it only shows a ‘?’.

Is it possible to do it through a free copy of a cloning software?

I also was thinking of upgrading the OS X to High Sierra.

Thanks

MacBook Pro
